Buying books and reading books are two very separate hobbies.
I have a real problem with the buying books side of things, especially nonfiction. There is SO MUCH I want to learn, and I just cannot read fast enough to get it all into my head.
So I end up with a TBR pile that you could quite easily build a mausoleum from to bury me in when I die.
The good news is, though, that I am reliably interested in the same handful of subjects.
And every so often, when I'm writing, I'll have a sudden need for information - today it was the Indigenous history of Toronto - and I can just turn around and pull a relevant book off my shelf.
That is truly the most satisfying feeling in the world.
